These ratings are locked and reflect the final regular season Z-Ratings.
They will not change as postseason results come in.
The Sectional Z-Rating ranks all 16 Indiana boys volleyball sectionals by the strength of their field. It's calculated from the top 4 teams in each bracket — the realistic contenders — weighted 40/30/20/10 by Z-Rating. A higher score means a tougher bracket, though toughest isn't always the same as most competitive — a field with one dominant team can rank high even if the outcome is largely predetermined. A team in Sectional #1 on this list has to beat better competition to win a title than a team in Sectional #16.
How Sectional Z-Rating is calculated:
The top 4 teams by Z-Rating in each sectional field are weighted 40 / 30 / 20 / 10 to produce a single score.
These four teams represent the realistic semifinalists in an 8-team bracket.
A higher Sectional Z-Rating means a tougher path to a title.
